Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BigStar Engineering (“BigStar Engineering”, “we” or “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data when you visit bigstarengineering.com or contact us. We process personal data in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection of Vietnam (Law No. 91/2025/QH15) and its implementing regulations (the “PDP Law”).

Who we are

BigStar Engineering is a company based in Hanoi, Vietnam, that designs EV technology solutions and sources EV and automotive components. Personal data we collect

• Contact and request-for-quote (RFQ) details you provide through our forms: your name, company, email address, phone number, WhatsApp or WeChat ID, and country.
• The content of your message and the details of your request, such as the components, quantities and specifications you are interested in.
• Files you upload, such as drawings or specifications. Please avoid including personal data in these files unless it is necessary.
• Technical data, such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. Strictly necessary data is collected to operate the website; analytics data is collected through cookies only with your consent (see our Cookie Policy).

Providing personal data is voluntary. However, if you do not provide the information marked as required in a form, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or prepare a quotation.

How we use your personal data

• To respond to your enquiries and prepare quotations.
• To source suppliers for your request: we may share the technical and commercial details of your request with suitable manufacturers or suppliers, limited to what is needed and, where possible, without your contact details.
• To communicate with you about your request and our services, including follow-up on quotations and orders.
• To operate, secure and improve our website.
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Notice of personal data processing (summary)

• Purpose: the personal data collected through our forms is used for the purposes listed above.
• Recipients: our service providers (see below); manufacturers and suppliers relevant to your request; professional advisers; and competent authorities where required by law.
• Obligatory or voluntary: fields marked as required are needed to process your request; all other fields are voluntary.
• Your rights: you may request access to and correction of your personal data as described below.

Transfers to service providers

We use trusted service providers to run our website and business, including our server hosting provider in Vietnam, an email service and, with your consent, analytics services. These providers process personal data on our behalf under written agreements that require them to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us. Some providers, such as analytics services, may process data outside Vietnam; where personal data is transferred abroad, we do so in accordance with the PDP Law, including the required transfer impact assessment. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

We keep enquiry and RFQ data for up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, after which it is deleted or anonymised. We may keep certain records longer where required by law or where needed for an ongoing contract with you, for example records of accepted quotations and orders.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls limited to staff who need the data, checks on uploaded files, and the use of reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to review our measures over time.

Your rights of access and correction

Under the PDP Law you have the right to be informed about the processing of your personal data; to give or withdraw consent; to access, correct and request deletion of your data; to request restriction of processing or object to it; and to lodge a complaint or claim compensation as provided by law. To make a request, email privacy@bigstarengineering.com with enough information for us to identify you and the data concerned. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the time limits set by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Visitors from other jurisdictions

Our website is used by visitors from many places. If you are located outside Vietnam, you may also have rights under the data protection laws of your jurisdiction, for example the Personal Data Protection Acts of Singapore and Thailand, the Personal Information Protection Law of China, or the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Depending on the law that applies, these may include rights to be informed, to object to or restrict processing, to request deletion, or to data portability. Withdrawing marketing consent

If you have agreed to receive marketing communications, you may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by using the unsubscribe link in our messages or by emailing privacy@bigstarengineering.com. We will then stop using your personal data for direct marketing.
